Pitch Shifting – Collaborative Platform

Pitch Shifting is an interdisciplinary ensemble and collaborative platform, co-led by Sanja Star and Grgur Savić, exploring improvisation, experimental sound, and live visual and sound systems. The platform extends the core research framework into expanded live configurations with invited collaborators.

The core duo (Star / Savić) is joined by a rotating group of artists, allowing each performance or project to develop unique constellations of sound, image, and space. Collaborators have included Richard Scott, Rieko Okuda, Samuel Hall, Ute Wassermann, Emilio Gordoa, Sofia Borges, Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø, Daniel Craig, Tomomi Adachi, Nicolas Collins, and others.

Within the ensemble:

  • Sanja Star develops live visual and sound systems

  • Grgur Savić contributes experimental sound structures, electronics, and acoustic improvisation

  • Other ensemble members contribute electronics, acoustic instruments, voice, or movement, depending on the project

Each performance unfolds through open improvisational frameworks, emphasizing systems-based interaction, spatial modulation, and temporal evolution, producing time-based environments co-created by the full ensemble.
