triptych 11
Digital Image Triptych | 2023
Triptych 11 investigates the threshold between perception and construction of meaning. The work examines how visual ambiguity produces unstable recognition, where form oscillates between appearance and dissolution.
The three images operate as a sequence of perceptual states rather than fixed representations. Each frame captures a different condition of instability, where fragmentation, distortion, and incomplete information generate shifting interpretations of form.
The work engages with pareidolia, memory distortion, and perceptual filling-in as mechanisms through which the visual system actively constructs reality. Instead of presenting stable imagery, the triptych stages conditions in which perception becomes an active interpretative process.
[ ⁰1 of ⁰3 ] Forms emerge at the threshold between abstraction and recognition, where perception completes incomplete structures.
[ ⁰2 of ⁰3 ] Fragmented surfaces and unstable reflections reveal how memory reorganises visual information over time.
[ ⁰3 of ⁰3 ] Visual structures dissolve into ambiguity, showing perception as a continuous process of reconstruction.
