to see the unseeable
Audiovisual Research Series | 2024
to see the unseeable is an audiovisual research series investigating electromagnetic activity produced by contemporary technological environments. The work is based on field recordings of signals generated by power lines, wireless networks, and electronic devices.
These recordings are translated into a system where sound and image operate through real-time correlation. Visual structures are built as 3D loop-based animations that respond directly to variations in the recorded signal, shifting through audio-driven modulation.
Across the series, sound and image form a continuous feedback structure that produces evolving audiovisual states over time.
The work consists of four studies and can be presented as a four-channel installation or as individual single-channel works. In a multi-channel configuration, the studies unfold across space as a distributed field of sound and image.
The series renders electromagnetic activity perceptible through audiovisual translation.
