Academic practice

My academic practice is an extension of my artistic research into interaction as a communicative system through which meaning emerges across sound, visual, material, and computational processes.

It spans teaching, mentoring, and research-based work in media art, sound, and experimental design across universities, art schools, and interdisciplinary programs. These contexts operate as collaborative environments where students engage with systems, processes, and methods that connect artistic experimentation with structured research.

FUNKEN Academy × TU Chemnitz

Research center MAIN · ArtScience · Research Mentoring

Within the FUNKEN Academy and the MAIN Research Center at TU Chemnitz, I mentor interdisciplinary student groups from art and music universities. The focus lies on experimental research at the intersection of physics, sound, material, and media systems.

The program operates as an art–science collaboration environment in which scientific infrastructures and artistic methods are brought into interaction. Participants develop experimental works that translate research contexts into audiovisual, spatial, and performative forms.

My role focuses on supporting process-based research development, where sound, visual, material, and computational approaches are explored as relational systems through which meaning emerges in experimental settings. The program concludes with a public group exhibition presenting the developed works.

Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology

Audiovisual Systems · Improvisation · MA Music Production

At Catalyst Institute, I led workshops in audiovisual improvisation and system-based performance for MA students in Music Production. The focus was on audiovisual interaction, immersion, and live generative systems (2022–2023).

SRH University Berlin

Interaction Design · Foundation of Design · Summer School

At SRH University Berlin, I teach Interaction Design and Foundation of Design courses for international students, alongside a Summer School program for visiting art and design students from Shanghai. The work focuses on project-based learning, visual systems, and cross-cultural design processes (2025–2026).

HMKW Hochschule

Motion Design · Erasmus Teaching

At HMKW Berlin, I teach motion design for Erasmus students, focusing on audiovisual communication, narrative structures, and experimental moving image practices.

BEST-Sabel Designschule Berlin

Experimental Design · Social Media · Mentoring · Internship Supervision

At BEST-Sabel Designschule Berlin, I teach experimental motion design and socially conscious branding and social media strategies for civic and cultural contexts. I mentor final-year students (Abschlussklassen) and supervise design internships in collaboration with the Illuseum Berlin, focusing on visual communication and optical illusion-based media. I also run annual design practicum programs for second-year students.

Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility

International Academic Exchange

As part of Erasmus+ Transnational Collaboration and Mobility, I participated in teaching and job-shadowing programs in Naples (Italy) and Tenerife (Spain), focusing on interdisciplinary exchange in art and design education.

School of Sound Berlin

Audiovisual Performance · Modular Synthesis

At School of Sound Berlin, I taught audiovisual performance techniques within the Modular Synthesis for Live Performance and Composition program. The course combined theoretical foundations of audiovisual perception with hands-on improvisation and live performance practice.

Mars College Berlin (School of Machines)

Art Research · Collaborative Practice

As part of Mars College Berlin at School of Machines, I participated in an art research group focused on experimental collaborative practice, culminating in a public group exhibition and presentation of research-based works.
