Bio

SANJA STAR (Croatia, 1982) is a Berlin-based transdisciplinary artist and educator exploring unknown, perception, and the hidden. Working across digital art, audiovisual performance, and transmedia projects, she investigates abstraction, pareidolia, and the interplay of light and sound frequencies.

Her work merges 3D animation, computer vision, and improvisation in visual contexts, creating immersive compositions where depth and movement distort perception. Drawing from quantum physics and the esoteric, she constructs shifting, hypnotic spaces that blur the lines between reality and illusion.

Star teaches design and audiovisual improvisation in performance art, emphasizing real-time visual composition and experimental methodologies. She collaborates with musicians and artists on transdisciplinary projects, engaging in "sonic illustration"—a process of translating sound frequencies into moving images. She is a core member of the audiovisual project Pitch Shifting and serves on the board of Richten25, an association for experimental music and art in Berlin.
